The Kindergarten students have been exploring 3D shapes in their Math class. They have discovered how to identify these shapes in their daily lives by connecting them to familiar objects, including some of their favorite snacks! Math is truly delicious!

Today we held our Elementary Carnival Jump Up. Our students portrayed blue devils, sailors and midnight robbers followed by a J'ouvert experience complete with paint and water that was enjoyed by all.

It's the 20th annual What's your Write? school-wide writing competition!

This competition is part of our literacy program and gives students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, a platform to share their stories and celebrate their creative achievements.

Last week our Grade 9 and 11 students had their Music Culminating. 🎶

The presentation was themed “The Chronicles in Music” and was developed by students.

The performances showcased varying levels of skill, reflecting the progression from Grade 9 to Grade 11. The musical genres presented spanned Trinidad and Tobago’s folk tradition, including Dame Lorraine, through soca, to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony from the Classical era, and concluded with “Mr. Sandman” from the classic pop era.

Today our Grade 10 Business Class held their small expo, which was part of their final culminating project. The expo featured the launch of their businesses, which they conceptualised, developed their business plans for and engaged in a Shark Tank, before launching to the school community.

Parallels, our Grade 12 Art Exhibition, opened at Studio Joli in Woodbrook on January 10th.

Our nine artists explored personal stories, shared emotions, and the quiet connections that bind us. A powerful showcase of vulnerability, creativity, and growth. 🎨

Today is the final day to view the exhibition, which closes at 6pm, and prints are also available for purchase.

We kicked off the first day back to school with our House Assembly.

Students who exemplified December’s Character Trait of Caring and Empathy were awarded certificates. 👏🏼

Our house captains, STUCO and ELSTUCO members received badges to make them more recognizable around school. 👏🏼

We also awarded certificates to the top 4 teams in last term’s 3 on 3 basketball tournament, as well as acknowledging our Reindeer Hunt winners. 👏🏼

We wrapped up the assembly with our usual house games, and we are well underway for an amazing term ahead! 🙌🏼

Recently, our Maple Leaf community came together to support the Brown Bags Charity Drive. This initiative encourages families to donate filled brown paper bags with food items and essentials to support those in need during the Christmas season.

We were delighted to partner with Elijah’s Bread and the St. James Police Youth Club, who collected the donations. Both organisations expressed sincere thanks for the generosity shown by our Maple Leaf families. The contributions received will make a meaningful difference for many individuals and families.

GRADE 10 SHARK TANK

Recently, our Grade 10 Business class took part in a fun “Shark Tank” activity in the school library. Each student shared a business idea they created on their own. They explained what their business would do, who their customers would be, and how they would make money. Students also had to answer questions and convince the audience that their idea could work in real life.

It was a great chance for students to practise speaking, think creatively, and learn what it’s like to be young entrepreneurs.

Earlier this month, our Grade 10 students enjoyed an enriching and dynamic Career Week filled with guest speakers who generously shared their expertise, experiences and passion for their respective fields.

The week offered students valuable insight into a wide range of career paths from the creative arts to business leadership, healthcare, design and education. Career Week proved to be an inspiring experience, and we extend our sincere thanks to all our guest speakers for helping guide and motivate our Grade 10 students as they begin to map out their future careers.

International Business Students Explore Local Exce

International Business Students Explore Local Excellence at The House of Angostura

Our International Business class recently enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to The House of Angostura, where they were fully immersed in one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most iconic institutions. The tour guided students through several captivating stops, including the Barcant Butterfly Collection, the Angostura Museum, the Art Collection, the Bitters Bottling Facility, and the Distillery. Each space offered a unique look into the history, creativity, and craftsmanship that have shaped Angostura’s legacy for more than a century.

Students had the rare opportunity to witness real-world manufacturing processes in action, deepening their understanding of how local companies operate on a global scale. By the end of the tour, students gained a greater appreciation for Trinidad and Tobago’s contributions to the world and a clearer understanding of how international business truly works beyond the classroom.
