Our Kindergarten students have been exploring the "Community Helpers" unit. They recently visited Sunnyview Vetcare Services, where they interacted with animals such as dogs, guinea pigs, and even a snake! 🐕🐍

They wrapped up the unit with a Show and Tell where students presented their favourite community helper. We were wowed by the amazing presentations; the children have grown in confidence while developing their public speaking and oral presentation skills. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The Grade 7 Visual Arts class recently enjoyed an

The Grade 7 Visual Arts class recently enjoyed an exciting and educational trip to the Emperor Valley Zoo with Ms. Ali as part of their ongoing collage project focused on the theme of unity in art.
Students explored the zoo and gardens, capturing photographs of animals, plants, textures, colours, and natural surroundings to inspire their creative compositions.

The visit also provided valuable reference material for an upcoming art piece, encouraging students to observe details and patterns within nature.

The experience was both educational and inspiring, allowing students to combine creativity with real-world observation in developing their artistic ideas.

At yesterday’s assembly we recognised our students who embodied our school’s character traits, celebrated our “What’s Your Write?” winners, applauded those who have proudly represented our school at events and activities throughout the past month, and announced the house cup champions for the academic year! 🏆

Last week, the Grade 9 and 10 Drama class experimented with Tableau Vivant. Tableau Vivant, French for “living picture”, features actors or models in costume bringing famous historical or literary scenes to life. Their depictions are static and silent. This performance tradition has roots in the Renaissance but remains a dynamic art and educational form today.

The Grade 3 class visited the ACADO-Swiss Pasta Pl

The Grade 3 class visited the ACADO-Swiss Pasta Plant to learn about the manufacturing industry as part of their Social Studies unit. They were able to observe how pasta is made, from the mixing of raw materials to packaging the finished product. The students also had the amazing opportunity to serve as quality testers as part of the pasta-making process.

Maple Leaf International School recently participated alongside five teams at the recently concluded ISPS 6v6 Football Tournament. ⚽

With only one day of formal training, our Girls Under-15 team came together, fought hard, and secured a thrilling 3rd-place finish with a win over Woodbrook Secondary. 🥉

After an incredible performance to defeat Mucurapo Secondary School in the semis, our Boys Under-15 battled hard all the way to the Finals. They left everything on the pitch and took home a well-deserved 2nd place trophy! 🏆

We are incredibly proud of both teams for their spirit, determination, and excellent sportsmanship. Way to represent Maple Leaf! 🙌

The Grade 6 classes enjoyed a visit from performance poet Derron Sandy last week. He inspired the pupils to explore rhyme, similes, and alliteration, guiding them as they crafted creative poems about themselves.

On Monday 11th May, we hosted our very own Book Fair in partnership with RIK Bookstore. The event featured an impressive selection of books, stationery, puzzles, and games, all available at discounted prices.

Each elementary class was scheduled a specific period to visit and browse the collection, while secondary students took the opportunity to explore the fair during their lunch break.

In mid-April nine students, traveled to Tobago Div

In mid-April nine students, traveled to Tobago Dive Experience in Speyside, Tobago. Over three days of scuba diving, they practiced underwater safety and communication skills, leading to four students earning their Open Water certification and four achieving their Advanced Open Water certification. 🤿🪼
In addition, they had the unforgettable experience of swimming with stingrays, jellyfish, eels, and a vibrant variety of fish.
