PlayAble Caribbean Workshop
Some Secondary Maple Leaf students eagerly gave up their weekend, April 8th – 11th 2016, to be a part of the PlayAble Caribbean Disability Sport Workshop which was held at Maple Leaf International School. The aim of the workshop was to train the students to coach at disability sports camps and assist with developing Disability Sport in Trinidad and Tobago. Maple Leaf welcomed the opportunity to work with the Playable team.
Christian, Tyler, Jonathon, Matthew, Michael, Kevin, Bixente, Zach and Dylan did both classroom and practical sessions. They experienced a sport wheelchair and played sessions of seated volleyball, tennis and goalball. They also experienced the world of the visually impaired through various exercises with blindfolds.
We look forward to working with PlayAble Caribbean in future disability sports camps and wish them continued success!
